Let's quit kidding - this is the biggest issue of our time. We are in trouble. We need a Federal Government that is willing to take the lead in directing the future of our economy. We need a government - and government agencies - willing to push us forward in a concrete, decisive direction. How?

- Tax incentives to start ups that will help create jobs in new companies willing to chance new endeavors.

- Zones for specific industrial growth. Silicon Valley is a high tech "zone". We need similar "Zones" throughout the Nation where specific industries can grow and theive. We need Government planning to help organize and plan those zones. Create tax breaks for companies and workers who need to relocate to those zones.

- Infrastructure Repair. This puts people to work and helps all of us by providing better, safer basic necessities.

- Leadership in the areas of renewable energy - there is no reason we can not bridge the gap between harvest and yield when it comes to the cost of harnessing renewable sources. We send billions overseas to have oil shipped to our shores. Time we put that money to use here to capitalize on what we have in our own backyards.

- Manufacturing must be retooled and rethought. While manufacturing is on the upswing, we have a long way to go. We need to compete in a global economy - we can only do this effectively if we control production costs and overhead. Our workers are the finest in the world. We must Improvise, adapt, overcome by controlling housing cost of workers, providing cost effective health care to employees and allowing our worker to get back to work doing what they do best - making the best products in the world!

- Unions are in existence for one reason - to protect their members. It is time the government, owners and workers partner with each other so companies can grow, profit and remain stable while union workers are protected.

- Undocumented aliens are not our enemies. In fact our economy relies on them. It is time for the Department of Immigration to retool, create new options for workers who stay so they can support their families and pay for the services they use here.
